Radiofrequency and heat energy have been used in medical procedures for years on the face, neck and other body parts. It turns out that it also works extremely well for internal and external vaginal rejuvenation. Mahima Med Spa’s medical team utilizes a disposable handheld wand (FormaV) to perform the treatment. Ultrasound gel is placed on the tip of the wand to help with gliding during the treatment.
It is gently inserted into the vaginal canal and warmed up to a temperature of 43° C. During the 10-minute treatment, the wand turned in half moon pattern to deliver a uniform and comfortable sub-dermal radiofrequency heat across the internal vaginal walls, external vulvar tissue, and labia.
Once the optimal temperatures are reached, your body recognizes the heat as an injury. It sends in natural healing forces to produce new collagen fibers. How Do I Prepare for Votiva Vaginal Rejuvenation Sessions?
Before your sessions, you will need to remove all hair from the treatment area. Avoid intercourse for 24 hours prior to treatment. Three days prior to treatment, you will need to stop the use of NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin. Vaginal rejuvenation treatments should also be avoided during menstrual bleeding and just prior to your menstrual cycle.
